Can Budgies Eat Arugula?

Arugula is a healthy and nutritious food for budgies. Arugula, also known as rocket or rucola, contains Vitamin C, calcium, and iron, which are essential for budgie health. Arugula also contains antioxidants that can help your budgie stay healthy.

Wash your budgie’s arugula to remove pesticides and dirt before feeding it. Arugula is safe for budgies but should only be given to them occasionally as a treat. Because arugula is high in oxalates, which bind to calcium and prevent its absorption, birds can become deficient in calcium. Thus, occasionally feeding your budgie arugula is a great way to add variety to their diet, but it should not be their main source of nutrition.

Besides arugula, budgies can eat kale, spinach, broccoli, and carrots. Budgies need vitamins, minerals, and nutrients from these foods.

While budgies need vegetables and leafy greens, they should not be overfed. Budgies should eat mostly high-quality birdseed or pellets and a small amount of vegetables and fruits. Overfeeding your budgie fruits and vegetables can cause obesity and other health problems.

Arugula is a great addition to budgies’ diets, as I have owned them for years. Once or twice a week, I treat my budgies to arugula. I have noticed that they are healthier since I started feeding them more vegetables and leafy greens. They like the taste and variety.

Finally, budgies can eat arugula, which is healthy and nutritious. Wash arugula before giving it to your budgie and only give it occasionally. A budgie’s diet should mostly consist of high-quality birdseed or pellets, with only a small amount of fruits and vegetables. You can help your budgie stay healthy and happy for years by feeding it a varied and balanced diet.
